100 Years of Kruger. Only 100 Bed Nights.
There is a moment just before the rains return where everything feels suspended.
The earth is dry. The air is charged. The sky gathers itself.
At Kruger Shalati, we believe in lighting the spark that ignites passion and transforms dreams into reality through our Pillars of Hope initiative. On 15 April 2025, we proudly joined forces with the University of Mpumalanga (UMP) at their Hospitality Introductory Nexus—an event buzzing with the enthusiasm of students eager to carve their path in tourism and hospitality.

Led by our inspiring Head Chef, Chef Vusi, along with the talented culinary team of Chef Manqoba, Chef Noxolo, and Mr. Vincent, the day was a vibrant celebration of culinary artistry and passion. With his characteristic charm and warmth, Chef Vusi delighted students with an interactive live cooking demonstration, masterfully crafting dishes that showcased the finesse and elegance synonymous with Kruger Shalati’s renowned 5-star cuisine.
As aromas filled the air and laughter echoed across the venue, students enjoyed tasting extraordinary dishes and seized the rare opportunity to connect personally with our chefs. Questions flowed freely, ideas were exchanged, and passions were ignited, creating an atmosphere charged with inspiration. The eager faces and glowing eyes of the students spoke volumes, reflecting a newfound excitement and curiosity for their culinary futures.

This meaningful exchange is at the heart of our Pillars of Hope initiative, underscoring our unwavering commitment to nurturing talent and inspiring the next generation by generously sharing our time, skills, and heartfelt passion. At Kruger Shalati, we know that investing in tomorrow’s culinary leaders today not only enriches communities but also secures a dynamic and flourishing future for our industry.

“Receiving Two MICHELIN Keys is an incredible honour,” says General Manager Gavin Ferreira. “But what makes it meaningful is that it reflects the passion of our team and the spirit of the place we are privileged to share with our guests.”
